Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Poultry Farmer to manage the daily operations of our poultry farm. The Poultry Farmer will be responsible for overseeing the care, feeding, and management of poultry, ensuring optimal production and animal welfare. This role requires a strong understanding of poultry farming practices and the ability to handle day-to-day farm tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Animal Care: Oversee the feeding, watering, and care of poultry, including chickens, turkeys, and other birds, ensuring they are healthy and well-maintained.
• Egg Collection and Management: Collect eggs, monitor egg production, and ensure proper storage and handling to maintain quality.
• Health Monitoring: Regularly inspect poultry for signs of illness or disease, and work with veterinarians to administer medication or vaccinations as necessary.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the poultry houses, ensuring that bedding, waterers, feeders, and other equipment are regularly cleaned and sanitized.
• Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of feed consumption, egg production, poultry growth rates, and any health issues.
• Breeding and Hatching (if applicable): Manage breeding stock and assist with hatching processes to ensure a healthy flock.
• Farm Operations: Operate and maintain equipment used for feeding, watering, and cleaning. Ensure proper ventilation, temperature, and lighting in poultry houses.
• Safety and Biosecurity: Follow strict biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases and maintain the health of the flock.
• Team Collaboration: Work with other farm employees to ensure efficient operations, and supervise unskilled workers or laborers when necessary.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working on a poultry farm or with animal care is preferred.
• Knowledge of poultry farming, animal husbandry, and biosecurity practices.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to monitor animal health and farm operations closely.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in an outdoor farm environment.
• Good organizational skills and record-keeping abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Tolerance for handling poultry and exposure to farm odors and noises.
