Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our construction team in Italy. The Mason will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other materials to construct or repair structures, including walls, floors, and other building elements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in masonry, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work on various construction projects with precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brick and Block Laying: Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, or similar materials in vertical or horizontal courses.
  • Mortar Preparation: Mix and apply mortar to bind construction materials, ensuring proper consistency and adhesion.
  • Structural Repairs: Repair damaged structures, such as walls, chimneys, and foundations, by replacing broken or damaged masonry elements.
  • Surface Finishing: Apply plaster, stucco, or other surface coatings to complete masonry work and ensure a smooth finish.
  • Foundation Work: Build or repair building foundations using reinforced concrete, stones, or bricks.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to ensure precise masonry work according to design specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to construction site regulations.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Properly use and maintain masonry tools and equipment, including trowels, levels, chisels, and hammers.
  • Collaboration: Work with other construction workers, foremen, and project managers to complete projects on time and to specification.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a mason in construction, preferably in Italy or similar environments. Familiarity with different masonry techniques and materials is required.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to work with a variety of materials, including bricks, blocks, and stones. Skilled in using hand and power tools specific to masonry work.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail to ensure that all masonry work is level, plumb, and aligned with project specifications.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Basic knowledge of Italian (or willingness to learn) for following instructions and collaborating with colleagues on-site.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy masonry materials (up to 50 kg).
  • Comfortable working at heights, on scaffolding, or in confined spaces.
  • Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions.
