Job Summary: We are looking for a dependable Laundry Worker to join our team. The Laundry Worker will be responsible for operating washing machines, dryers, and other equipment to clean clothing, linens, and other laundry items for customers or businesses. This role involves sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and delivering laundry while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and Preparing Laundry: Sort laundry items based on color, fabric type, and cleaning requirements. Check for stains or damage and treat accordingly before washing.
  • Washing and Drying: Operate washing machines and dryers, ensuring that all laundry is cleaned and dried according to the appropriate settings and specifications.
  • Folding and Ironing: Fold, press, and iron laundry items such as clothing, linens, and uniforms to ensure a neat and clean appearance.
  • Quality Control: Inspect laundry items for cleanliness and damage after washing and drying, ensuring that all items meet quality standards before returning them to customers or placing them for storage.
  • Maintaining Equipment: Perform basic maintenance tasks on laundry equipment, such as cleaning lint traps, checking machine performance, and reporting any malfunctions to management.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with drop-off and pick-up of laundry items, answering any questions they may have about services and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Work Area Cleanliness: Keep the laundry facility clean and organized, including sweeping floors, wiping down machines, and emptying trash bins regularly.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of laundry loads, orders processed, and special instructions for individual items.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in laundry services, housekeeping, or a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy laundry bags (up to 20-25 kg), and perform manual labor.
  • Attention to Detail: Careful handling of delicate fabrics and attention to detail when sorting, washing, and folding laundry.
  • Time Management: Ability to handle multiple loads of laundry efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Friendly and professional communication when dealing with customers or team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry laundry bags or bundles (up to 25 kg).
  • Comfortable working in a warm environment due to heat from dryers and ironing equipment.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods during shifts.
