Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Insulation Fitter to join our team. The Insulation Fitter will be responsible for installing and repairing insulation materials in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role requires knowledge of insulation techniques, materials, and safety practices to ensure energy efficiency and temperature control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Insulation Installation: Install insulation materials, such as fiberglass, foam, and reflective barriers, in walls, ceilings, floors, pipes, and other structures to reduce heat loss or gain and maintain energy efficiency.
- Material Preparation: Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific spaces, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to building codes and specifications.
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sealing, or applying adhesives to ensure insulation adheres properly and provides an effective barrier.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, masks, and protective clothing, to minimize exposure to harmful substances and prevent injuries.
- Inspection and Repair: Inspect existing insulation for damage or wear and make necessary repairs or replacements to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other trades, such as electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians, to coordinate insulation work within larger construction or renovation projects.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of insulation work completed, including materials used, job specifications, and any issues encountered.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all insulation work meets company standards, building codes, and energy efficiency guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Insulation Fitter or in a similar construction-related role is preferred.
- Knowledge of various insulation materials and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in tight or confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
