Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Animal Caretaker to join our team. The Animal Caretaker will be responsible for providing daily care to animals, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining clean and safe living environments. This role involves feeding, grooming, and monitoring animals, as well as assisting with veterinary care when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily Animal Care: Feed, water, and monitor animals according to their specific dietary and health needs.
• Grooming and Hygiene: Bathe, groom, and clean animals regularly, ensuring their hygiene and comfort.
• Health Monitoring: Observe animals for signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behavior and report any concerns to the supervisor or veterinarian.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and disinfect animal enclosures, bedding, feeding areas, and other equipment to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Exercise and Enrichment: Provide animals with daily exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
• Assist with Veterinary Care: Help with administering medication, vaccines, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of feeding schedules, medical treatments, and any behavioral or health issues.
• Safety and Well-being: Follow safety protocols when handling animals to prevent injuries to both the animals and caretakers.
• Adoption Assistance (if applicable): Assist with the process of preparing animals for adoption, including behavior assessments and socialization.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required.
• Passion for working with animals and a commitment to their welfare.
• Knowledge of animal behavior, care practices, and basic health requirements is a plus.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods.
• Comfortable working with a variety of animals and in environments with varying odors, sounds, and conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
