Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Photovoltaic (PV) Panels Installer (Electrician) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical systems and experience with the installation of solar panels. This role involves the setup, installation, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The Installer will ensure all installations comply with local electrical codes and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of PV Systems: Install photovoltaic panels on rooftops, ground-mounted systems, and other structures. Secure panels in place and connect them to electrical systems.
  • Electrical Work: Install wiring, inverters, disconnects, and other components of solar energy systems. Ensure proper grounding and electrical connections.
  • System Testing and Commissioning: Test PV systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet design specifications. Identify and resolve any electrical or performance issues.
  • Site Assessments: Conduct on-site assessments to determine the best locations for panel installation based on shading, roof angles, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing photovoltaic systems, including checking inverters, cleaning panels, and replacing defective components.
  • Compliance with Safety Standards: Ensure all installations meet local electrical codes and safety standards. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation processes, including wiring diagrams, materials used, and testing results. Provide reports to supervisors or clients as needed.
  • Customer Interaction: Explain system functions and proper usage to clients. Provide advice on energy savings and potential system upgrades.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with engineers, project managers, and other installers to complete projects on time and to high-quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Certification: Must be a certified electrician, licensed to work on residential and commercial electrical systems.
  • Experience: Previous experience installing photovoltaic panels or other electrical systems is required.
  • Knowledge of PV Systems: Strong understanding of photovoltaic systems, including inverters, batteries, and grid connections.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments. Must be comfortable using ladders, scaffolding, and other safety equipment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve electrical issues during installation and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Tools: Proficiency in using tools such as drills, saws, crimpers, and multimeters.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license is required for travel to job sites.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure installations are done safely and correctly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on rooftops and ladders, and lift heavy solar panels (up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods while performing installations.
