Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and energetic Kitchen Help to assist with various tasks in our kitchen. The Kitchen Help will support the kitchen staff by performing a variety of duties including food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Assist with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to recipes or instructions.
• Cleaning: Clean kitchen surfaces, including countertops, floors, and equipment, ensuring a sanitary environment. Wash dishes, pots, and pans, and assist with keeping kitchen areas organized.
• Dishwashing: Operate dishwashing machines and/or wash dishes by hand, ensuring all kitchenware is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Stocking Supplies: Help with stocking and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients. Assist in the inventory management and restocking of essential items.
• Trash and Recycling: Dispose of trash and recycling materials regularly and ensure bins are emptied and cleaned as needed.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, such as ovens, refrigerators, and mixers. Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Assisting Staff: Provide support to chefs and cooks by fetching ingredients, utensils, and other necessary items. Help with plating and garnishing dishes as required.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and bending for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a hot, humid environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for long periods.
